Contract Admin Guide purchasing-procurement-center.com Shows You the Complete Contracts Administration Process from A to Z
Often, a tradesman or construction professional will have a lot of skill in their specific trade, but don't have a lot of experience in the business of contracting. I see this example a lot.
A painter or plumber or carpenter has been working for a company for many years and has learned all that he can learn. He is at the top of his pay scale and can't go any further. So he decides to go out on his own.
He gets all the paperwork together, buys the equipment that he needs, and maybe even starts a website. Then he just sits there waiting for the business to come in. Unfortunately, it doesn't ever work out like that. It takes a lot of hard work and a lot of specialized knowledge to get construction leads.
Even if you have a construction website, it is often hard to drive traffic to the site and convert that traffic into leads that will make you some money. So I'll outline the things you need to do when you start a construction company and want to get some leads coming in.
1. Start posting on Craigslist. This will get you some exposure and will start getting you leads right away. They aren't always the best quality leads but anything will do when you are just getting started. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth. Post every day but don't over do it. It will only take you so far.
2. Start a Facebook page, a Google+ Page, and a Twitter account. You can do this even before you start a construction website because they are fast and painless to get started. Make sure to put a lot of pictures of your previous work and interact as much as possible.
3. Set up your Local Search pages. You need to set up your Google+ local pages and your yahoo local page and your Bing local page. These are the easiest way to get traffic to your website and your phone to start ringing. It just takes a little work to make these methods start working for you.
4. Finally set up your web page. It needs to be professional, fast, and information packed. Don't skimp on this part. It is the first impression that you will make on any potential clients. You need to impress them with lots of photos of your jobs. Also include lots of client reviews. Make it easy to navigate and find what they need. Oh, and don't forget to put your name and phone number on the top of every single page. Also include your service area in an easy to find location. Its imperative that people know who you are, where you work, and how to contact you.
5. After you have all of your online properties taken care of, it is time to start working offline. Make sure to get a sign for your truck. Also get some signs for the clients yard.
I wouldn't worry about getting a yellow pages ad yet. They are very expensive and don't really work all that well. It really depends on the type of contracting you do and the age of your clients.
To sum up, if you want to start getting clients in the door, you need to follow these easy steps. Just figure out where the clients are, and put your message in front of them. Construction Marketing is not really all that hard, you just have to know where to start.

HOW CORPORATE DONORS CAN RAISE MORE CHARITY MONEY THAN THEY GIVE
Here's how PR and marketing firms, and their corporate clients, can reach millions of potential customers, AND help make the world a better place by inspiring others to give even more money. In addition, the corporates receive rightful credit for doing it.
This idea starts out with alarm bells, but ends with hope, and a plan.
THE ALARM
There are a lot of urgent problems out there: war, hunger, poverty, and human rights abuses, not to speak of a global financial crisis.
Charities, NOGs and public aid agencies are doing their best to cop, but government and private donations to support them are nowhere near enough. Even the most generous corporations and foundations can not make up for the public support that is missing because of compassion fatigue, or cynicism over more of the 'same old bad news.'
THE HOPE
There IS reason to hope that millions of potential donors who use social media websites can become emotionally connected people in need if you give them SERIAL storytelling.
Social media users, many of whom want to be connected with real life dramas they can follow, are instead often targeted by fundraising campaigns that just alarm them, or try to make them feel guilty about the state of the world.
The good news is that Serial Storytelling videos give donors what they want most, a personal reason to become involved: a multi-episode series that focuses on one person, or a small group of people, as they go through an ongoing crisis. This is why people watch TV serial dramas by the millions... suspense and personal involvement with the characters. And when the characters, and the crises are real, as they are the world's most desperate situations, the impact can be powerful.
Sadly, many NGOs, charities, and public aid agencies have yet to even try serial storytelling. They either haven't thought about it, don't have the budget, or the background and expertise to pull it off. But they will benefit greatly if the following plan is put into action.
THE PLAN
If you are a corporate or private donor, or have a client who is, you can leverage a modest amount of money into a fund raising campaign for your charity or good cause which could be worth many times more than what you put into it. The campaign, which is a charitable gift, but also an ad campaign for helping people in need, connects to a world wide social media audience. The corporates don't even have to spend a dine on commercial ads for the campaign. Here is how it works.
  • Personal Drama Each series revolves around the personal lives of an individual, family, or small group, which the charity or aid agency is trying to help. The videos are shot on location. Each 'webisode' begins with a re-cap of the story until now. And at the end of each piece, there is a tease forward to what is at stake in the next instalment

  • Emotional Connection: The audiences become involved in their personal struggles, dreams, and values. We discover that our featured individuals have the same needs as ourselves. We bond with them. We also show the heroics and personal efforts of charity and agency field workers

  • Your Brand Connection: When you sponsor a Mike Lee Serial Storytelling project for an NGO, charity, or aid agency of your choice, your brand or logo is displayed either before, during, or after each video 'webisode.' There are various interactive techniques for this.
Charities, NGOs, and aid agencies need donations. Corporates can not be expected to save the world. But the world can do a lot to save itself if enough individuals connect to serial storytelling videos about fellow human beings. Corporates can well afford to help make those serial storytelling videos possible.
Mike Lee turns ideas into serial storytelling videos. Mike is a former ABC News global correspondent, now a freelance journalist. http://mikeleenews.com/ In the process of writing and performing thousands of TV scripts, I have found that a talented, experienced, and truthful critic is your best friend. Many new entrepreneurs seek advice mainly from family, friends, or colleagues. Nothing wrong with that, because it can often boost our morale. But those closest to us often distort the truth, for fear of hurting our feelings, or even, in the case of office rivals, a chance to derail our progress. I help you make the best online video possible, and to give you the impartial and reliable feedback of a media professional. And I know that criticism only works when delivered in a thoughtful, compassionate, and constructive way. My service is for those of you who want highly individualized guidance, and who want to keep your online videos, thus your commercial edge, confidential until published. The History of Neon Signs

The bright colourful lights of neon signs have been around for 100 years already now and despite the advent of LED signs, neon seems set to continue in popularity for many more years. So how did scientists discover that combining a glass tube, an electrical current and certain gases made an attractive and compelling formula to advertise commercial businesses?
It was in 1856 that Heinrich Geissler first discovered that he could create a light source by passing electric current through a gas sealed into a glass tube. Subsequent experiments showed that most common gases would conduct electricity and quite a few would produce light. Unfortunately none of the gases produced a lasting effect as they would react with the electrodes reducing their efficiency.
In 1898 Sir William Ramsay and Morris William Travers developed the fractional distillation of liquid air. In so doing they discovered the rare gas elements of neon, argon, xenon and krypton. They found that these gases produced good light sources in various colours without reacting with the electrodes, so the illumination was long-lived and constant. Neon produced an orange-red, argon an intense blue-violet. This process was too expensive to develop in any commercial way at this time however.
In 1907 Georges Claude found a more economical method of fractional distillation. He was intending to produce pure oxygen for use in hospitals. The rare gases were by-products with no commercial application at the time and he wanted to find a use for them to avoid wastage. Using the previous research done by Ramsay and Travers he was able to develop the illuminated sealed tubes into intricate shapes and forms, utilising the various gases, and so the first neon signs were born. His first commercial signs were installed in 1912 and demand for these signs picked up quickly so that his company Claude Neon was able to sell franchises.
Neon signs were brought to the United States in 1923 by a Los Angeles car dealer, Earle C. Anthony. They quickly became popular, spreading like wildfire as businesses discovered the power of neon to attract customers to their stores. Eventually neon signs were essential to catch the eye in any business district and Las Vegas was legendary for its elaborate neon displays.
While the heyday of neon signs was perhaps the 1940s and 50s, neon continued to thrive despite the introduction of illuminated plastic signs in the 1960s. Today with LED signs also grabbing a share of the signage market, neon is still first choice for many people for its artistic qualities, atmospheric and character full signs.

How do you keep it ill?
Whether you're on the dance floor or building the next billion dollar biz.
Differentiation is the key.
So what is it?
Differentiation is the edge that makes you stand out from the crowd. Its the one thing you've got (or claim you got) that no one else has.
Killing it in the world of killer competition means you have to have an edge.
So how do you get different? Here are three Ideas to separate yourself from the crowd:
1. What being different is not. (Starting by knowing where you shouldn't start):
- Price
If all you got is price. You'll be undercut.... Or in gaming world: PONED.
- Quality
This is a given. "We've got the highest quality...." REALLY? If you're selling a product you should make it high quality. Its the unspoken expected.
2. Go with what you know. Your passion is your money maker.
-There's an old saying that says "Do what you love and you'll love your job."
I say, If you love something, Market it!
It will be 100000x easier to become an expert and show passion for something you love and understand.
A good friend and business partner of mine is an Owner Finance Enthusiast. Which just means he loves being a bank for people who can't get loans. If you ever talk to him he's always talking about his next owner finance deal. He sells it well because he loves it and understands it better than anyone else I know. If I needed to get owner financing I'd choose him! (and so would anyone who talks to him)
Remember your passion is your money maker.... so shake it.
3. Learn to have fun with it.
This seems simple and goes with number 2 but its definitely something that is considered "Taboo" in the business world.
All work and no play makes Jack a very dull rich man.
Being fun in every aspect of your life creates a different vibe. If you walk into a bar, club, or business room you should be having fun. NO EXCEPTIONS. Why else would you want to do it?! It also makes your life less stressful and considering that stress is one of the leading factors in death, lets you live longer too.
I think it is sad that being "fun" is even a possible differentiating factor but it is. Especially when selling yourself. So live a little. Let loose. Thank me later!

In the early days, the most accepted and used systematic conventions for graphic communications were bone, ivory, or stone markings of signs, etchings, and figures. This kind of language has been conveyed even before the appearance of written language. This predicts drawing as one of the practices for writing. The best example for an ancient technical illustrator is the emergence of Paleolithic art among European caves. The etchings were dated about 30,000 years ago. This made technical illustration and graphics as the most indispensable tool in social and cultural evolution.
Technical illustration and digital graphic designing are great tools you may use for transmitting and communicating information. Graphics have been the one of the earliest forms of communicating and storing information as you may have seen in ancient caves. For an average technical illustrator, drawing has been considered as the manual skill to represent what one sees. However, the term drawing has an oversimplified meaning. Graphics on the other hand, is a bit articulated structure that sounds rather complex than drawing. Graphics have been considered to belong to gifted hands only.
Drawing and graphics play the same role in human lives. They refer to some forms or set of marks produced from any suitable instrument or software for the main goal of communicating an idea or concept without words. As one form of communication, they come in lively boldness that may be renewed through continued use. Drawing and graphics are things that never wear out and contain rich diverse information in different synergy. The cognitive stimulation between artists and viewers may come differently too. This synergy represents the degree of mutuality between the medium and the repertoire of responses, which are rather specific to perceptual and human cognition.
Drawing and graphics can be considered as one domain that tightly intertwined perception and stimulation. This natural scientific framework is called as the psychology of perception. Drawing can be adapted for diverse purposes such as caricature, diagrams, signals, planning, or technical illustration. You can know more about the personality of an individual based on the drawings. It has been concluded that geometrical shapes in graphology may indicate and predict the rational and logical way of thinking of any individual.
Let us say for example, people who doodle. Some individuals just love to scribble without really thinking. However, the onlookers and the person who doodle do not even realize that it carries a great deal of meaning. Sometimes, it triggers some inspiration for serious artworks. The activity is an outlet of being frustrated from creating better artistic expressions. Psychologists and counsellors believed that we all have something to convey regardless of our emotional state. Drawing a picture may even help during counselling. The drawings of children are considered as predictor of important emotions, social competence, and feelings of self-esteem. They are emotionally significant drawings to predict strong emotions that often were not verbalized. In counselling, drawing are used for informal assessment of the person's internal world. It is used to gain insight of the person and resolve internal conflicts.
