Why embedded POS
Having a point of sale that has embedded features is important to anyone who owns a business. With embedded features that the user is able to use multiple different systems well; reduce confusion and maintenance costs. Embedded features are different systems and programs that are made by the pos vendor within the general software solution. Essentially they are systems already made within the solution and not by a third party that simply works with the existing solution.
With embedded features there are no concerns about upgrading and problems that would occur if one system breaks down. When there is a third party system that breaks down, it would cause general problems for the entire system. Since the pos solution works with different parts of a third party program it would not be broken when the third party software breaks down. Certain bugs and missing features can be also become a problem for the entire system, since one program would not be able to effectively communicate with other components of the system.
Upgrades is something that does not occur with systems that work with third party programs. This is because reverse compatibility issues, if one component of the entire system upgrades, it may not be able to function with the other parts and there would be an issue. Upgrades to the system are important to ensure the highest quality. If there are no upgrades then the business will be stuck with solutions that are outdated.
In general having a system that does not have embedded features would reduce the overall quality of the entire system that is available to the business owner. Having embedded features in the system ensures of the highest quality and the best solutions available.
Many pos developers do not create embedded features in order to reduce their own costs; this doesn't mean that the solution offered is any cheaper and often times this comes from brand name solutions. The overall quality is low and the maintained costs would be high in order to ensure compatibility of the various components that they work with. There is no real benefit to business owners using such solutions, with high confusion there is also higher use difficulty which means contacting the companies support center that would not provide good support. Integrated solutions have many benefits and they are better solutions than others. Solutions with high quality features are very important for any solution to have.
