How to Drive Quality Traffic to Your Retail or Service Business

By

As more and more consumers abandon the old school offline ways of searching for products and services, niche retailers and service-based companies may be finding it more difficult to maintain inbound traffic. One of the best ways to drive quality traffic to the front door of your store or service business is to be visible online to the person who is searching for your product or service.
Either way - you need to bring in new business and in order to do that you need quality traffic or your business might have to cut back or maybe close it's doors.
Quality traffic is defined as a warm or hot lead that is in search of your product and/or service.
This qualified lead may be someone who is researching for themselves or another person, or possibly someone who is looking to purchase your product or service.
What you need to be thinking about is how you search when you are in the market to buy a something. So it is important to reverse engineer the process of searching and then you can better position your business to be seen by qualified prospects.
So ask yourself the following questions and then follow the four steps I outline below to get the traffic coming your way.
How do you search- from your phone, laptop, desktop, or tablet? Where do you go first? Which search engines or directories do you use on a consistent basis?
Here are four steps that you can take to drive more quality traffic to your front door, phones and email:
1. Local Directories are the first place you need to list your business. Many have been around for years and have high search position so your business may come up if you register and have your information in each of these directories.
2. Search Engine Marketing -or what's known as pay per click or pay per view are great ways to test your ads both offline and online. While testing you can attract quality traffic, optimize your ads at the same time, plus if you choose to stay consistent and market this way your ads may sometimes show next to your organic listing, so it's like double dipping and getting two for one.
3. Search Engine Optimization is key to getting your business positioned so when a searcher needs what you have they can easily find you by typing in the keywords or key phrases that pertain to what you offer.
4. Social media sites are an important step and should not be overlooked. You need to have a presence on the main stream-sites and this will reinforce your message and position in the market to your searcher.
The bottom line is that you need to be as visible as possible to the searcher who is looking for your product or service. This takes time and effort, so do the work and in due time the qualified traffic should come you way.
